AUSTRALIS return with their first release since their 2016 full-length, "Spaces of Hope." Featuring members of OBSOLETE, SUNLESS and DISCHORDIA and session drums by Kevin Paradis (BENIGHTED), Australis blaze through their new EP on an epic two-part journey.
A highly advanced robot is built with the objective of deep, deep space travel and data collection. It’s meant to be an enduring project, handed down over several generations of scientists and observers. Since the robot will be going far past the point of communication, it’s built with sophisticated AI and human-like characteristics for the purposes of decision-making and data interpretation.
Part I documents its findings beyond human comprehension.
Part II, the being finds its way home to learn humanity has wiped itself out. It then sets about its task as it did on other planets, recording and analyzing what it sees.
